Have you finally decided to get your old floor replaced or refinished? If so, then the most important thing is to protect that investment in your home.
You need to put floor protection on all of your furniture BEFORE it goes onto the new floor.
You are spending thousands on a new floor so don’t spend only a dollar or two on cheap floor protection. Those will only last a few days or weeks and the next thing you know they have flatten down to paper thin or have slipped off and that new floor is scratched. As soon as you have placed the order for the new or refinished floor, take an inventory of all of the furniture that will be on that floor and order Flexi-Felt floor protection. That way you have time to determine what you need, order it, receive it and install the floor protection before you have to put the furniture on the new floor. With quality floor protection on the furniture, you can rest easy that your floors will be protected for a lot longer than a few days or weeks.
Guarantees do not mean what they use to. Years ago you would get guarantees on almost everything and the product service life would exceed the end of guarantee by years. Now you have many items that have no guarantees and if you are lucky, you get one month or three months guarantee. Most electrical products from computers to TV’s have a one year guarantee. If you want a longer guarantee you have to pay for it. In many cases, the cost for the extended guarantee is almost the same price as the item you bought. What I can’t understand is: the product I own that have guarantees break down or has other problems within months of the expiration of the guarantee and in one case within three weeks. In that case as in the other cases the manufacturer did not want to respect the guarantee even though it was less than three weeks since it had expired. BUT don’t get discouraged. There are still some products where the product lasts much longer than it’s guarantee. This is particularly true of the Flexi-Felt products. I’ve had people call me that had the clear sleeves for over three years and were just starting to get problems with one or two pieces. That is really great. You buy a product with a one year guarantee and it actually lasts three times longer then expected. Just the cost savings of not having to replace them every year is worth it let alone the time and energy to buy and replace the product every year.
Note: This does not mean all clear sleeves will last three years. It’s service life depends on the amount of usage it experiences and the type of floor it is being used on.
Most floor protectors can’t be cleaned (then again you don’t have to worry about cleaning them when they fall off within a week or two of installation). Since the Flexi-Felt floor protectors can last several years (depending on how they are used) they will need to be cleaned occasionally. The felt can be wiped with a damp cloth or vacuumed to remove dust and surface dirt. The clear sleeve can also be wiped with a damp cloth. However, for more soiled felt pads on the clear sleeves it is recommended to remove them, wash them under running water with a bit of dish soap, rinse well, let dry and re-install. This is especially handy now that the holidays are coming. You may have a small child or guest spill something on the floor and the chair gets dragged through it before the spill can be cleaned up. Soda pop is the worst because it is very sticky. Clean it as soon as possible and once it is dry it will continue to work very well at protecting your floors.
I’ve had several people call me who have chairs with angled feet. The problem with the angled feet is that maybe only half of the foot actually sits on the floor. The rest of the foot angles upward so that any floor protectors you put on them get only half worn. The Flexi-Felt Clear is a good solution for those who hate to have to throw away a half used pad. With the clear sleeve, once it is worn on one side, it can be removed and rotated so that the nice side is on the section that sits on the floor and the worn side is now on the section that is angled up. No one will notice it but you have doubled the life of your floor protectors. How’s that for being frugal. You save money and you do a small part to protect the environment. Last winter and spring were very difficult weather wise which affected all companies that sold to schools. However the fall school season has started off with record sales in Flexi-Felt floor protection and in particular the new version of the model 6328. Schools were complaining that this model fell off easily so we redesigned it into a heat shrink model. This means that kids cannot pop them off by leaning back in their chair. They cannot pull them off. Once they are installed, the only way to remove them is to cut them off. Schools are loving that and the fact that it make stacking chairs easier then before.
