When we hear Spring we associate it with Cleaning. Don’t think “Groan”. Spring is the time for warm weather, flowers and renewed hope. Our homes have been closed up due to the cooler or very cold weather and just feel grubby. A little spring cleaning can do a lot to change that feeling and give your home a fresh feel and look. First thing is to start cleaning high up and work your way down. Don’t want to wash or paint those ceilings or walls this year? Just give them a good dusting with the Silver Mop Pro and the rabbit pad (it’s call rabbit because it’s so soft). This will take you minutes to do instead of hours or days. The adjustable handle allows you to reach and dust high places that you never could in the past without a ladder. When the pad is dirty, just throw it in the wash. Now you just have floors to do. Spray the Clear Clean Pro and mop with the Silver Mop Pro. Take out those tough stains with the twist pad (the fibers are actually twisted which helps to tackle those tough stains). That was both easy and very fast. Now you can go out and enjoy the fabulous weather.
If you still feel like cleaning tackle those windows, siding, the RV, your vehicle etc. with the Silver Mop Pro and pads or just use the pads for those difficult areas.

Cleaning Floor Protectors
Most floor protectors can’t be cleaned (then again you don’t have to worry about cleaning them when they fall off within a week or two of installation). Since the Flexi-Felt floor protectors can last several years (depending on how they are used) they will need to be cleaned occasionally. The felt can be wiped with a damp cloth or vacuumed to remove dust and surface dirt. The clear sleeve can also be wiped with a damp cloth. However, for more soiled felt pads on the clear sleeves it is recommended to remove them, wash them under running water with a bit of dish soap, rinse well, let dry and re-install. This is especially handy now that the holidays are coming. You may have a small child or guest spill something on the floor and the chair gets dragged through it before the spill can be cleaned up. Soda pop is the worst because it is very sticky. Clean it as soon as possible and once it is dry it will continue to work very well at protecting your floors.
Housewarming, Christmas…..Gift
Are you stuck with wanting to buy a gift for the person who has everything? I’ve often had that problem, especially a house warming gift or if I’m invited to dinner somewhere. Some people don’t like plants as gifts. Others don’t drink wine or are very fussy about the type of wine they drink. Don’t bring food because they think that you think that they can’t cook. Or it doesn’t go with what they are serving. Or they don’t like your cooking. Scented candles (I have allergies) so I don’t like them. A decoration for the house (someone actually told me “another dust collector” when I gave them one) so I no longer give that. Again Flexi-Felt staff have put their heads together and come up with a very unusual gift. It is the Silver Mop Pro combo but they have included a chamois cloth and some plate stackers. You are thinking Ho Hum! Wrong. They set them up so that it looks like a bouquet of flowers but everything in it is usable. It can be used in the house, garage, workshop, RV, boat, dorm, apartment and any other place where people have stuff to clean. It’s a unique gift that you won’t find anywhere else. That’s very hard to find nowadays.
Silver Mop Pro Kit
A kit to easily clean floors, walls, boats, trailers and anything else you can think of. IEG is always thinking and came up with a really light but solidly built mop. The pads are big so that you can cut clean up time in half. The two types of mop pads can handle all types of clean ups. I tried the soft pads (called a rabbit pad – how cute and appropriate since it is very soft) to dust floors, walls, ceiling mirrors (no, not in the bedroom – the foyer), and I just tried it to dust around the house. Since it contains no chemicals it didn’t leave any residues that could affect my breathing (I sometimes have trouble with asthma). I also tried it on my baby (my car) and it was real gentle on the paint but cleaned it very well. What was also nice is when it got real dirty I threw the pad in the washing machine. Nothing ended up in the landfills. I also tried the rougher pad (called a twist pad because of the twisted fibers) on those really dirty areas, especially where the dogs go in and out of the house. The going out is not the problem, it’s the coming in with muddy paws and I have not been able to train them to wipe their paws on the carpet at the door. It really worked well, even on the dirt that had dried and been on the floor for several days (yep, I do not clean my floors every day – my bad). I also noticed that the Velcro strips that hold the mop pads to the mop head are actually imbedded in the mop head (no double sided tape here to easily let go). I tried sitting on the handle (I keep breaking regular mop handles) but it didn’t even bend. I have a feeling this one will not break easily but it is adjustable to that is can be shrunk down to put away in a small corner. I give this product a thumbs up.
My Pet Peeve – Small Chair Feet
I had someone who called me to get help on some beautiful chairs they had bought. The only problem with the chairs is that they were destroying their floors. Designers create very unique and beautiful chairs but never think beyond that. I have also come across that with architects that create beautiful designs but do not think of what it involves to build and maintain, the same with cars etc. Then I am asked to help protect peoples floors. When a chair has a 3/4″ diameter or less there is very little surface for an adhesive to adhere to. The smaller the surface, the less likely a pad will stay on. There is the Flexi-Felt 6815 which is a clear sleeve model that can hold onto a 5/8″ diameter round leg or a 1/2″ square leg. If you own a chair with a leg that is smaller then that or with legs with unusual shapes such as a triangle, rectangle (say 1/2″ x 1/4″) or any other shape, there is really nothing that can protect your floors from the damage that they will surely do. So please, next time you think of buying furniture, look at the chair legs and think of how they will damage your floors and what you will need to put on them to protect your floors.
Upside Down Chair Guy

No, I’m not the guy hanging upside down from a ski lift. But if you attend the Surfaces show in January 2015 or the Domotex, just look for the guy who is spinning an upside down chair that has vice grips holding it’s Flexi-Felt floor protectors. That will be me. Come see me and ask me your floor care questions in person.
